Common questions

How do I get access to CatchLab?

CatchLab is in a private, invite-only beta on Apple TestFlight. Email us to request an invitation. If you are invited, you will receive an email from TestFlight with install instructions; you will need the free TestFlight app from the App Store.

How do I report a bug?

Two easy ways:

  • In TestFlight, open CatchLab, and use the Send Feedback option. If the app crashes, TestFlight will offer to send the crash report with your notes, which is the most useful thing you can send us.
  • Or email us a quick description of what happened, what you expected, and a screenshot if you have one.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your catches, trips, and photos are tied to your account, protected by per-user access rules, and never sold or shared with advertisers. Photo files have their location metadata removed on upload, so a shared photo cannot reveal where you were fishing. Read the full privacy policy for details.

Can I get my photos out of the app?

Yes. Any photo in your log can be saved to your iPhone camera roll at full resolution.

Can I check the weather somewhere other than where I am?

Yes. On the weather screen, tap the search icon and enter a city or zip code. Star a place to save it for one tap access later.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Settings, then Delete account. This permanently removes your account and all associated data. If you no longer have the app installed, email us at support@getcatchlab.com from your account email and we will remove it for you.

The app will not load or shows an error. What should I try?

  1. Close the app fully and reopen it.
  2. Check that you have an internet connection; catches logged offline will sync when you are back online.
  3. Delete and reinstall from TestFlight (your data is stored in your account, not on the phone, so nothing is lost; you will just need to sign in again).
  4. Still stuck? Email us with your phone model and iOS version.
